The importance of knowledge exchange in the era of digitalization

April 22, 2018

In addition to having branch offices in two university cities, Novi Sad and Graz, M&I Systems, Co. has gone a step further when it comes to the cooperation with the academic community. On the occasion of the launch of the new Digital Transformation master’s program, FEFA and M&I Systems signed a Memorandum of Understanding of the FEFA Coalition for Digital Transformation. The concept of the program is rooted and based on the exchange of knowledge and experience, as well as the expansion of the contact network among those who will be carrying out this program.

What are the changes brought about by digitalization?

Digital transformation brings changes in terms of business and organizational activities, processes, competencies, and business models in order to fully utilize all the changes, overcome all the challenges of the digital present and future, and ensure survival and progress on the market. The extent to which companies implement digital transformation is still not keeping pace with fast technological growth, development, and innovation. Why is that? Because digital transformation, among other things, entails changing the way of thinking and the state of mind of all employees. Technology is the engine and the tool of digital transformation, but people are its basis on all levels. Through a series of lectures, the students attending this program will be in direct contact with the experts working for the most important IT companies both in the region and worldwide. This approach will enable them to familiarize themselves with real case studies, problems, current trends and challenges in IT, as well as ways to overcome them.

Knowledge exchange and digital transformation

Digital transformation involves the exchange of knowledge on all possible levels. The experts from IT companies will share their knowledge and years of experience with the students in order to introduce them to the real business challenges brought on by digitalization. The students will open new topics for discussion with their open attitude and questions. Also, a network of contacts will be created and experience will be exchanged between IT experts taking part in this program.

Through their lectures, our colleagues gave an insight into the field of business process optimization using robotics and artificial intelligence. Focusing on Business Process Management, Performance Management, Robotic Process Automation and Artifical Intelligence, they emphasized that the main goal of any change should be to satisfy customers, which is, among other things, achieved by studying a huge amount of data about them using new technologies. They also added that the architecture of the 21st century is being built in this way, enabling the connection between the physical world, that is, everyday needs, with the digital world.
